No matter what business document you’re putting together—be it a proposal, a pitch deck, a case study, or an investment deck—you need a perfect template.
(And no, the ones available inside the PowerPoint app won’t make the cut.)

For general business templates for PowerPoint, read on!
Starting with business templates available straight from Microsoft, the makers of PowerPoint themselves. First of all, your PowerPoint app (as well as an online version, for that matter) features in-built business templates you can use. Just follow these steps:
However, the templates and themes you’ll find there aren’t the most imaginative ones. Luckily, there are hundreds of templates you can download from Microsoft to boost your business presentation. To save you the time of browsing through all of them, I compiled the top 6 right below.
Blue spheres (free)
A simple, elegant free business PowerPoint template that will work across all industries and different presentation types. Recommended for internal use.
Minimal design
One of the “premium” templates from Microsoft’s website, “Minimal design,” as the name implies, is minimalist and basic. However, you get a lot of templated slide designs for data visualization which is a nice bonus.
Chronicle
Like the previous one, “Chronicle” is available as one of the premium business PowerPoint templates. With a lot of image placeholders across different types of slides, it will be a good pick in industries with a highly visual aspect.
Futuristic pitch deck
Great for tech companies, the “Futuristic pitch deck” was designed specifically with pitch decks in mind. Featuring dedicated slides for all kinds of content you need to present your company in the best possible way: timelines, “About us” pages, financial forecasts and so on.
Global infographic (free)
Again, it’s all in the name! “Global infographic” aims to make data visualization easy for businesses who operate on international markets. Maps, charts, and other gimmicks included. A very clear and easy-to-read business PowerPoint template.
Green pitch deck
With stock images included and a palette hinting at sustainability, the “Green pitch deck” is a perfect choice for businesses who want to highlight how much they care for the environment—not necessarily local farmers themselves!
Now, let’s have a look at business PowerPoint templates and themes from outside of the Microsoft empire. There, too, you can find some free-of-charge gems. But if you want to nail a presentation critical for your bottom line, it’s best to invest some cash in a truly professional design.
Project management (free)
A solid free business PowerPoint template from Slidesgo. The color palette is extremely eye-pleasing, so are the shapes and little vector icons. This template has been designed with project management in mind, featuring dedicated slides for key data, such as roadmaps, services offered, project goals and more.
Geometric ribbons (free)
Another free business PowerPoint theme, this one from Slides Carnival. The design is based on, you guessed it, geometric ribbons dividing the slides into key areas such as photo placeholders and spaces for text or visualizations.
Startup pitch deck (free)
As its makers put it, with this startup-dedicated PowerPoint template, “you can show your product overview, include a demo or sneak peek, detail a case study or tell what your business model will be.” Fair enough! All wrapped in a youthful design.
Communication consulting
A premium template from Slidesgo created with the consulting industry in mind. The layout is very dynamic with lots of different shapes and icons coming into play. Plus, some great placeholders for highlighting key data.
Modern architecture (free)
Laying it on the line—it’s my favorite free PowerPoint template for business use. It looks very neat and polished, has all the elements you might need to create a killer presentation, plus, a variety of over 30 uniquely designed slides to pick from. The only downside is that it might prove hard to adjust it to your branding.
Strategy
Created by the trigtype design studio, “Strategy” is a packed offering with 80+ unique slides for any use case you might think of. The design feels very premium and polished and this business PowerPoint theme offers plenty of room for customization. It’s pricey but the owners do offer limited-time discounts, so be on the lookout for those!
Golden
“Golden” by simple PPT is a modest, basic business PPT template. The price is really fair, the slides easy to edit and personalize, and the overall design of this business theme for PowerPoint feels very welcoming and highly readable. A great choice if you’re on a budget but still want that extra spark in your presentation.
Firma
One of all-time bestsellers on Etsy and for a good reason. “Firma” by MapsBoutique can be your go-to business PowerPoint theme no matter your industry or the exact document you’re working on. The template offers unparalleled variety with 280 business PowerPoint slides available. You’ll find everything you need, surely, the only problem might be that it can take quite a while to locate the slide you’re after.
Magazine style
Inspired by printed magazines and brochures, “Magazine Style,” created by SimplePPT is another example of a reasonably priced template. Great for internal use or short-and-sweet presentations. Probably wouldn’t do well for a very comprehensive and detailed pitch deck.
Yello
Fresh, vibrant, and very contemporary, “Yello” by the notoriously prolific BervisualStudio has GenZ written all over it. Eye-catching headings, hip fonts, subdued yellow palette, and tons of strategically-placed image placeholders. A great pick for startups targeting a younger audience.
Blue & gold
Last but not least, “Blue & gold” by KaySquaredPrintables, boasting a staggering 5.0 review average on Etsy. This template is clearly well thought-out and includes many smart features to help you illustrate your message. The overall vibe is corporate rather than SMB-like so I’d recommend it for more conservative industries such as law, finance, or high-level consulting.
One last thing to keep in mind: always choose a design well suited to the *one* specific presentation you’re working on, don’t just pick whatever you think looks prettiest. I hope this article helped you find just the template you needed. Keeping my fingers crossed for your deck!
