A project proposal comes in at a critical stage of any deal. That’s why it’s so important to get it just right. You want a proposal that raises above the noise and makes the ROI obvious for your customer. Before you achieve that, though, you need to grab and hold their attention. How to do it? By picking a professional, visually stunning project proposal template.
The problem? Those are really, really hard to come by. See, part of my day-to-day job as Editor-in-chief at Storydoc is browsing the Web in search of the finest templates for business documents so that I can present them to you. With project proposals, it was bordering impossible to find at least 15 that would look amazing.
Don’t worry, though. I just tried harder and can now proudly invite you to view this gallery of the finest project proposal templates available online in 2021 (free options included). Let’s dive in then!
First off, let me show you our very own templates for project proposals. At Storydoc, we know how critical it is to grab your customers’ attention with a project proposal and we have a tool guaranteed to make an impression.
Our templates go beyond static slides or Word pages. Instead, we provide you with interactive, scroll-based templates, ideally suited to the needs and attention span of modern-day buyers. Just see the example below and ask yourself which template will be more memorable. A no-brainer, right?
Also, make sure you know how to receive feedback on your PDFs. This is especially important when working with multiple stakeholders.
Here's an example of a project proposal template transformed in our tool:

And if you’re convinced you need a standard template for a project proposal, at least pick one that looks really great. Like the ones presented below.
Slidebean
Starting off with this simple, basic, and free project proposal template from Slidebean. The design is clean and elegant, and you’ll get slides for all typical section you might want to include in your proposal.
Editing: PDF or in-app.
Slite
Slite’s template for a project proposal is another example of a very minimalist design. The main advantage of this one is the ease of editing: all you need to do is fill in the blanks, the app will make sure your document looks just right. The problem? It’s not particularly memorable or imaginative.
Editing: in-app.
Mod
“Mod” from Picmonkey, one more free project proposal template on our list, is based on simple-yet-distinct colorful shapes that grab attention and add a modern vibe to the layout. Will work great for IT or business project proposals.
Editing: in-app (free, but signup is required).
Luna
“Luna,” by Luna Soul Design graphic studio was designed with freelancers and creative agencies in mind. It’s definitely one of the more artsy project proposal layouts in our gallery, which will be a better pick for relaxed industries, rather than corporate environments. Looks very professional and well thought-out, the problem is the lack of versatility (you only get 8 different slide layouts).
Editing: Canva and PDF.
Amma
“Amma” is a 15-page project proposal pack that will be a solid choice for any industry. The slides feature more space for text than for images so if you’re basing your proposal on written narrative, rather than graphics, it’s going to work great for you.
Editing: Canva only.
Simple
As the name suggests, “Simple” by LeafloveSpace is a very basic template for project proposals. That doesn’t mean it’s not a powerful layout, though. The design is very minimalist, that’s true but, at the same time, very elegant and classy, which will help you convey your professionalism and attention to detail.
Editing: MS Word.
Brief
Another design by the LeafloveSpace studio, “Brief” is a slightly modernized take on “Simple” (previous on the list). The layout is more dynamic, the typography fresh and fashionable, plus there’s some nice-looking shading, not just black writing on white background. You can stick to filling out the blanks in MS Word or make some more advanced visual tweaks in InDesign.
Editing: InDesign and MS Word.
Clean & creative
Notoriously featured in our design galleries, the RsmBoutique design studio brings you this “Clean & creative” project proposal template featuring 16 uniquely designed pages, a pack full of custom vector icons and illustrations, plus, some impressive data visualization options.
Editing: Illustrator and MS Word.
Basic
“Basic” is a well-organized, minimalist project proposal template that will work great for short-and-sweet project descriptions. The two columns let you save space and fit more onto a single page, the blue elements guide the readers’ eyes to the most important bits of information.
Editing: MS Word.
Organized
With design inspired by an actual booklet, the “Organized” project proposal template will be a good choice if you need your document printed out. The pack comes with 20 separate page designs, vector icons, and custom fonts. Will work great for corporate business project proposals.
Editing: MS Word.
Artsy
A very clean and somewhat artistic design by AestheticCraftDesign is surely a customer favorite. Reviews cite an unparalleled ease of editing and smooth-to-use image placeholders, as well as an overall professional feel it has to it. Will be a good choice for product-related project proposals.
Editing: Photoshop, MS Word.
Purple proposal
The distinct and very coherent color palette is the strongest asset of “Purple” by Print Templates studio. Looking really fresh and modern, this project proposal template will be an ideal pick for startups and hi-tech companies.
Editing: InDesign only.
Classy
This elegant project proposal template by Ahsanjaya Corp of Indonesia will work best for more complex, formal proposals: for instance, engineering, IT infrastructure or large-scale real estate. The template offers over 30 unique slide layouts for all kinds of typical project proposal sections and items plus, a lot of space for detailed descriptions of technical specifications.
Editing: InDesign only.
Circominia
Distinctly minimal and very modern-looking, Cricominia by iCreativee is a hell of an unforgettable proposal template. The design feels advanced and polished, the strategic use of red color will help highlight the most important bits. The only downside is little space for images so this one will work best for text- and data-based proposals.
Editing: Photoshop and InDesign.
UniBrand
UniBrand is brought to you by New York’s Graphic Assets design studio. It’s a very simple and quite a conservative template for project proposals, perhaps best suited for corporate environments, rather than relaxed start-ups.
Editing: InDesign only.
DreamAngle (free download)
Last but not least, quite an amazing free project proposal template by Design Stock. This one features 12 pages and a large pack of custom vector icons, all wrapped in a very dynamic, brochure-inspired design. The main drawback is the limited flexibility in editing the layout but hey, considering that this one’s totally free of charge, it might be worth spending some time playing around with text fields.
Editing: InDesign only (free download).
